Overview:

The Escalante Ranger District of the Dixie National Forest has one Wildlife Technician position for the summer field season. This position will also assist with hydrology and recreational duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

The Wildlife/Hydrology Intern will primarily conduct Northern Goshawk surveys and monitoring of established nesting territories. This will require the individual to hike alone, detect and document wildlife species, document data collected, and submit and organize datasheets. Duties will also include riparian surveys including spring inventory and aid the Hydrologist in assessing stream habitat. This position may hike over rough terrain for several miles alone and will be subjected to varying weather conditions in the field.

Qualifications:

The position requires experience working outdoors in a field setting, some bird identification skills, and attention to detail.
